8 Interesting Elevator Installations in the Netherlands
Published on 2022-03-15At Cibes, we have produced and installed over 70,000 elevators worldwide, in locations varying from schools and zoos to seaside villas, so it’s safe to say, we’ve seen it all. In today’s blog, we’re sharing our top elevator installations in the Netherlands to inspire you and give you an idea of the wide range of possibilities you have when installing your Cibes elevator for home or public settings.
#1 Markthal, Rotterdam
If you have ever visited the city of Rotterdam, you’ve probably seen the Markthal or Market Hall. An intriguing building to the eye, but it’s much more than a building. It’s the home to 228 private apartments, an artistic market, and 3 Cibes lifts.
The Market Hall is famous for its original shape and ceilings filled with vibrant art by Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam. The market has 100 fresh food stands and multiple international restaurants. 2 of our lifts have been installed inside the apartments, but you can visit one of our Cibes lifts at the Wah Nam Hong Asian supermarket in the Markthal.
Our Cibes A4000 lift shown above is in one of the Markthal Apartments. The idea was to fully integrate our lift into the luxurious and modern style of the apartment. Therefore, the lift was fitted within the kitchen unit so that the lift doesn’t take up any space and keeps the interior minimalistic and tidy.

#2 School in Amsterdam
This Cibes A5000 installation in a school in Amsterdam makes it to the top of our list because of the beautiful, tinted glass in the background in combination with the complete glass shaft that offers a 360 view.

This lift goes up to the 6th floor and can be used exclusively by people who have been given a tag reader. This installation can also give you an idea of how great a lift can look at the center of a staircase, which is already an often-unused space.
#3 Preco Beton offices in Apeldoorn
A beautiful sight to see, is our Cibes C1 pure cabin lift, installed at the offices of Preco Beton, a Dutch company that sells concrete products. This lift installation must make it to the top of the list for obvious reasons. The Preco Beton office has a very industrial and modern look, and the Cibes C1 harmonizes with that perfectly.

The LED lights inside the lift look very natural and can also be appreciated from the outside, while the glass wall also lets those inside the lift view the industrial concrete wall on the right.
It’s almost like the C1 was created to be in this environment.
#4 An outdoor dream in Amsterdam
Nothing is as nice as being able to enjoy every part of your home. This Cibes A4000 lift has been installed in a house in Amsterdam, leading from the inside to the gorgeous rooftop terrace. Our home lifts can fit within 1m2 of floor space, so they are ideal for the beautiful and narrow Dutch houses.

This lift has made it to our top list because it blends into perfection with the tropical/summery decor under the wooden pergola. This can show you the versatility that comes with our lifts, based on your choices you can always find something that suits your home style.

#5 Restaurant L’Osteria in Amsterdam
Our passenger lift Cibes A5000 was installed in the cozy Italian Restaurant L’osteria. This installation is another great example of how our lifts can adapt to your environment, not the other way around. Together with an interior designer, the restaurant added self-designed grids for the doors and glazed lift shaft to create a unique design that matches the style of the restaurant.

#6 A holy lift in Vianen
Our passenger lift Cibes A5000 was installed in a church in the city of Vianen. Since our lifts do not require a machine room or pit, it’s straightforward to install a lift while leaving the structure of a building intact.
On the top floor, the lift has a gate instead of a full-height door, leaving the view open so the beautiful church ceiling can be appreciated in all its glory.
#7 A MOOgnific lift in Barneveld
Regardless of your theme, you can always turn your lift into a statement piece for your business. This is the case for Van Lee in Barneveld, a company that produces dairy that was looking for a lift solution that also fits their brand perfectly. Our team in the Netherlands installed a Cibes A5000 and added a large, customized cow sticker to the inside of the lift shaft.
#8 A tropical View in Oud Gastel
This Cibes A5000 installation caught our eye. The lift was provided for Pagter, a company that develops and produces sustainable and innovative packaging systems for flowers. Our lift was installed in their new building located in the city of Oud Gastel.

The three-stop lift was chosen in black and glass. What makes this installation special? Pagter has added a personal touch by integrating nature with the lift. On the side of the lift, the lift boasts a vertical wall that flows with greenery.
