Meet the Engineers at Cibes Lift UK

At Cibes Lift UK, safety is our main priority and it’s the role of our engineers to provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction through our unrivalled lift maintenance care plans and servicing packages.

We spoke to Trevor Ward, Internal Sales and Rikki Lennon, Technical Support and Service Engineer, for their insights working for Cibes and the maintenance and servicing of each lift, whether they’re at a business or in a home.

WHAT IS IT LIKE WORKING FOR CIBES LIFT UK?

I have worked in multiple areas of the business over the past four years; spare parts, accounts, service and installation planning. In this time, I have built up a vast knowledge of the business and was offered an account management role looking after a major client.

“Whether  you’re in the office  or with the lads on site, you  see the commitment and hard work everyone  puts in forthe company, which has always  given  me encouragement.Throw in some fun, professionalism  and great products,  it makes it a pleasure to be associated with Cibes.”Trevor Ward.

“Cibes is full of opportunities. It can be an exciting, dynamic place to work where you learn a lot every day. My work takes me all over the UK and Europe, which makes the job so exciting.Rikki Lennon .

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

Bring it on! It’s usually a big mixture of  lift removals, installations, refurbishments, site checks and sales support with architects, sales managers  and  design managers. Project and account management  is a large part of my role.” Trevor Ward.

“There is no such thing as a typical day here at Cibes. My workday starts by checking my schedule and seeing if any breakdowns have come in. I then arrange my work depending on what is most urgent.

“Most of my work is attending technical visits, which means assessing lifts that are faulty or have been neglected.” Rikki Lennon.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST HIGHLIGHT OF WORKING WITH CIBES?

Tottenham Hotspur’s new ground was  an  exciting  project to be part of,  giving me the opportunity to have  a  hands-on approach with  installations and selling  our products. I’m lucky I get to travel and meet new people; enjoying my job enables me to have energy and passionand stay customer focused.

“Seeing the end result is rewarding, our lifts serve an important purpose for people. To combine experience in accounting, building and engineering alongside a great company and products, fills me with confidence to support architects, sales managers, clients and builders.” Trevor Ward.

“My biggest highlight to date would have to be the local school, Marine Academy Plymouth. Not only because my children go there but I got to see the whole project from start to finish.

“Being part of it and getting to see the people who required help to gain access to the upper levels, which they hadn’t been able to do for some time, was just great.”Rikki Lennon.

HOW IMPORTANT IS SERVICING/MAINTAINING A LIFT?

Safety and compliance, these are principles of the Declaration of Conformity issued after each installation to each unit. Our engineers take pride in every unit we install and maintain for the reliability of the unit.”Trevor Ward.

Like a car, it has to be serviced regularly by trained competent people. One of the biggest causes of failure is untrained personnel trying to fix/service our products.

“Regular servicing helps prolong the life of the machine and keeps it running smooth and quiet; servicing publicly accessible lifts is mandatory for a minimum of two visits per year.Rikki Lennon.
